Socialising overload

Went round S&G’s to look after all the kids while Alex & G played posties together.

Kids were amazingly wonderful today. Smalls playing dress-up and Big’s were ’sharing’   the PS2 and taking turns!!!

Gave them all a snack - no arguments!

I got bored with all the kids keeping themselves occupied so I cleaned!!! (well I am pregnant afer all!)

Alex & G got soaked (ha ha!) and wibbled on about ebay some more. Left for Cosham to post some bits and pick up some bits for E (Our Niece) - Happy 18th Birthday! Went round B&D’s to celebrate E’s Birthday (which was on Tuesday) with a BBQ and being British the weather wasn’t going to spoil it so tarpaulin & gazebos a plenty to keep us in the shelter.

The kids had a nice time playing with their cousins (who we don’t see often enough!), we talked, ate, told B&D I’m pregnant (they seemed pleased so it’s just my Mum & Dad to tell when I see them) and came away with 2 baby gates for bubba.

D had the idea of putting Natalie in loft when baby arrives - there’s going to have to be a major shift around, the baby can have Hemionie’s room ‘cos it’s the smallest, Hermionie can have Natalie’s room with an optional re-paint if she wants, I think Alex & I will stay where we are, but it would be nice to have a re-decorate or shifting of furniture, which leaves Natalie to go in the loft (don’t worry, it’s converted - we’re not stashing her up in a dark dingy loft, balancing on beams and breathing in fibreglass). Natalie, being the eldest is going to need a bit more privacy and I don’t have to worry about her on the steeper stairs. I had wanted to sleep in the loft again, but I’d worry about being ‘above’ the kids and about Hermionie on the stairs in the middle of the night if she needed us.

Gave E money for driving lessons as her Birthday Pressie - wish I could have given her more!

B got the Wii out with Wario-Moves and despite discussing with Natalie that we would leave at 6 - she whinged. Got home and watched the last Doctor Who - So sad it’s over till Christmas - loved the bit about Captain Jack being the Face of Boe though! - glad to see that after Martha saved the world - they didn’t just jump in the TARDIS and off to the next adventure - I’m sure we’ll all see enough of her next season though! Alex, Natalie & Hermionie wathed Doctor Who Confidential while I Fell asleep - I’m getting really good at this sleeping malarcky now- except at night !!!!

Tidying up, eating rubbish and too much screen time! :-)

Went to S&G’s for G and Alex to put up new fencing! - or not - ‘cos of the rain.

I tidied the conservatory. K & Hermionie played babies and watched Playhouse Disney, Natalie mainly played on the PS2, S came home and helped clean up. Young girlies were playing out in garden, we had our packed lunch - S’s caterpillars arrived with no home, but they’re ok in their container until they pupate!

S took Natalie to pick J up from school and Natalie bagged herself a haircut (well fringecut!). All had MacDonalds for Dinner - Yum! with some KFC Chicken Skin. Double Yum!! while we watched Spongebob.

Kids played some more while Alex & G eBay’d and S and I tidied up some more!!!

Hermionie went up to bed with K&J but didn’t stay long - she’s not used to sleepovers - has never spent a night away from home - although we were only downstairs! Natalie went up later with J, but again didn’t sleep so she ended up in the conservatory on the sofas. Hermionie fell asleep on Alex (v. cute!) and then put her with her sister. Adults watched American Pie:The Wedding 5/5V Funny.    I didn’t fall asleep this time!

iphone released in US- it’s on my Christmas List already   - along with a beginners aromatherapy kit and some Lush stuff!!!

I managed to get further on AC:WW - now have a job running back & forth and seem to have been co-erced in pulling all the weeds out of Tag DC?

Thursday 28th June

Natalie had brownies and came home with the wrong book to finish before being enrolled in 2 weeks, she bought Natasha’s home, so she’s not too happy! Feeling very lazy and uuk again - Alex has done alot today - I just didn’t feel like doing anything! Managed to watch Holby obviously! Discovered the joys of iChat today - really want an isight camera now!! Watched Little Miss Sunshine with Alex - quite good.

Tuesday 26th June

Natalie on G5 most of day (alot of Education city - me telling her to take her time read/listen properly).

I sorted through more stuff to sell - we have too much!!!

Very bad phonecall wise - Grrrrrrr!

Hermionie has been playing with Natalie’s marble run, we cleaned out sticky’s - they gobbled the new leaves straight away!.

We all popped down the local shops for bits and some fresh air and time away from the nasty-people wanting money on the phone.

…if that’s Richard and Judy then it must be Monday

Tooth Fairy didn’t make it  - we couldn’t find the ‘tooth box’ (which still has the last £1 coin in it!) WILL try and find it tomorrow!

Natalie has been playing with Logi-Shape Fun, - I know it’s under her age group but she has been using the shapes to make tesselations and symmetrical patterns and attempted to take photos of them with her bratz camera - sadly the camera only seems to work outside ‘cos the lense is about the size of a pencil tip and doesn’t let any enough light in! She also spent alot of time on my ‘pooter today, learning how to use Google (with strict filtering enabled!) to look for Doctor Who stuff (she has a serious crush on David Tennat….sshhh, don’t say I told you…..bless! - I wouldn’t mind him popping round for a cup of tea either tho!), and looking though the Classic Doctor Who Series on the Beeb’s site. She has well and truly finished with Year 2 on Education City… I am moving her up to Year 3 now…..

….OK done that … and it looks like we can still Year 2 - great! She has also been DSing in bed with her Nintendogs - she permanently put one back, put one on a long holiday and has now earnt enough money with her first puppy (Daisy) to buy another. I’ve had a go now and must say Daisy is quite cute, reminds me of the dog we had when I was youger - Ben, a big black lab/terrier cross, sadly arthritis got the better of him when he was 12. We (apart from Alex - but 3 against 1 wins!) would like a dog someday, when we move to a bigger house (see… I said when..not if… must mean I’m in a slighty optimistic mood today no?) - we can’t decide whether we’d like a black lab, a collie or an alsation..we’d also like chickens, ducks, and Igunana, tropical fish (again) and a goat!

Hermionie had a go at trying to match the shapes on the simpler cards of Logi-Shape Fun- she can put the circles on the train no problem - we keep working on colours with her - she pretty much has yellow, and red sorted, she can count to 10 and recognise when there are 2 or 3 of something and can kind of sing the alphabet - we also use Jolly Phonics alot with her - she loves doing the actions and singing the songs. When she draws or colours she really get’s quite engrossed (holding the pencil quite low to the tip and bending right over the paper so she’s 3″ away) in trying to stay in the lines or draw a ‘bubbit’ (Rabbit…sometimes frog…..usually rabbit!) She has been quite mummified today - which is nice - she has come up to me and said ‘wuv oo Mummy!’ several times (without someone telling her too)

Got a phone call that Natalie won the colour competition for her age group she entered at the Carnival on Saturday (she may possible have been the only 7 year old entrant? - A fruit bowl is being later as her prize - all Fair Trade products, as was the theme of the Carnival - nice!

We received our English Heritage Learning Magazine with the Learning Resources Catalogue today and saw this book (only this one is A2!), I rememeber seeing and even bigger one in Portcehster Castle a while ago and Natalie enjoyed reading it so that’s on my book list.

I’ve been busy tidying - I tidy and clean ALOT! I’m obsessed (some would say!) and while Alex was at work - we sort of had a routine, I would clean the place while the kid’s ate breakfast, I would clean up after them after their breakfast! (Hermionie feeds the floor) and the day would go on with sparadic bouts of playing with kids, cleaning up after the, feeding them, cleaning up after them, trying to make it upstairs to clean bedrooms and bathroom etc etc … you get the picture …since Alex has been home, he has has taken alot of the cleaning duties - I didn’t tell him too - he just did and now I’m pregnant I should be locked in a padded room apparently?… anyway me tidying up - It hasn’t been done properly for ages, you know moving everything and cleaning under, in and around not just what you can see… anyway done now.

Alex has been very busy trying to make sure we can pay the mortgage.

Alex and Natalie went round G’s to sort some stuff out, she had a nice time playing J&K. Hermionie and I watched some of Ice Age 2 (she loves the scenes with Scrat and his acorn - has her in hysterics - makes you wonder about a 2 year olds sense of humour!) before falling asleep on the sofa for an hour. She was very careful where she sat though - she didn’t want to squash the baby! - ahhh!

Read somewhere on the www today that it’s very unprofessional looking to use lot’s of       and !!!!!!!!!!!’s - oh well - guilty!

No tummy pains today - hope everything is okay - not long until Doctors appt - first hurdle, then midwife, scan appt, etc - every day seems to take so much longer when you’re pregnant - I find myself needing confirmation every minute! and when the baby get’s big enough to feel movement - if I don’t feel movement for 30 mins or so I get paranoid - probably not just me - especially when you’ve lost a baby.

Don’t try and blog while watching Bottom Live, it really put’s you off - our escape from reality tho!
“…another perfectly good pair of underpants ruined!”

News pics up in Flickr

See piccies tab.

…oh and I’ve just been in to check on the kids and Natalie has just told me in graphic detail about how she pulled her tooth out, she used the word ‘twisting’ alot :shudders: - apparently it didn’t hurt.

Sunny Sunday - Hah!….not!

Today did not start out so well for me, woke up and peed for England (as pregnant women usually do!) and ended up back in bed with excruciating abdominal pains that I couldn’t seem to shift. Spent a while crying in pain, Alex was getting more & more worried  . I think I can put it down to too much Iron in the Pregnancy Supplements I’m taking - Iron makes it difficult to go to toilet, if you don’t do a no2 for a while you get backed up and it hurts!! - at least I hope that’s the explanation - there’s no spotting so fingers crossed.

A bacon sarnie and a cup of tea made the world of difference and the pain eventually went. Sat down and watched Backyardigans with the kids, much to Alex’s disgust! Natalie played with her MoonSand (anyone have a recipe for this stuff, we’ve done floam, play-dough and gloop) and Hermionie played with Natalie’s Wooden Marble Run (must remember to fetch marbles from underneath the sofa  ). Both kids then moved onto playing dress-up downstairs. I cleaned up and sorted some washing out (tumbler again - grrrr!) and found that the stupid boiler had leaked all over the microwave again, all made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner, ate it and went out for drive (we intended going for a walk but we don’t have webbed feet and really the weather only suits ducks right now!) around the more country-ish parts near us and drove into as many deep puddles as we could find  kids found it hilarious.

Came home and tidied up the aftermath of the dressing-up session (well, Alex did ‘cos I had fallen asleep again) and got kids of to bed.

Natalie is upstairs pulling out her wobbly tooth out. Yuk!

….Alex has Natalie’s 8th tooth in his hand - guess we have to shell the money out then! (and sprinkle fairy dust over the money, Natalie’s pillow and put a dot of it on her cheek, ‘cos that’s where the Tooth Fairy gives her a kiss  - don’t ask me why I started it but I did and now we have to keep it up - just hope I can find the fairy dust!)

Sunny carnival, wet fayre.

Got up and brushed my teeth - big mistake, morning sickness gets instantly worse when retching over the sink because the toothpaste tastes yucky!!

I sorted out some pocket money for Natalie and Hermionie to take out with us today. We walked down the road and waited for the carnival parade to appear, Natalie took some photos and made a new friend (who goes to her old school!) while we watched the parade go by.

We walked up to field following the carnival procession and had a look round. It’s quite sad I remember when I was younger, the carnival used to be held on the bigger field near us and it used to fill it up, it’s now on a field not 1/10th it’s size and they struggle to get anything other than carbooters.

Natalie did a coloring competition, looked at the rescue greyhounds. Nan&GDadP turned up (they got stuck in traffic ‘cos of carnival  ). NanP spoiled kids - Natalie adding to her original Polly Pocket Collection & Hermionie got her own four-poster cot for her babies.

We looked at the carboot stuff and then moved onto the School Fayre (Natalie’s Old School) - sadly not as good as last year - the heaven’s opened and there was a downpour complete with thunder and lightening.

I picked up some books for the kids (I managed to get a good copy of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar‘ - there’s a great resource for this and other favourite books, including ‘Dear Zoo‘ at Kizclub). Alex won a bottle of whiskey for 50p (guess I won’t be drinking that ’til February then! - Alex doesn’t like whiskey - he’s a wine lover!)

Natalie went off and played with her old friends, including the ones she sees at Brownies - she was extremely happy running about her old school with her friends (who all miss her  ) Alex wondered whether she should be at school? Natalie would not! I think it was more about the fact that she knew she wouldn’t be sat on that cold hard floor in the hall come Monday morning, not able to talk freely to her friends!

We all sat down and ate some lovely cakes, Hermionie has been big with the NanP love today, I’ve hardly had a look-in  . Natalie was supposed to go to a brownies bbq this afternoon, but we deceided against it because it was pi**ing it down raining and also Natalie found that A wouln’t be going so now she didn’t want - the rain was just convenient  .

All got back to our house in the rain for tea and some lunch - GDadP took his usual position on the sofa with the DS Lite (I shall have to try and find NanP a new one of her own!) Natalie played more ‘Barbie Horse Adventures’ on PS2 (she’s progressing quite well on this game, without any help from me!), Natalie and Hermionie both spent some time reading books I bought, including this one and playing with their news toys.

Alex has been sorting out eBay, there was more rain, I napped (for 2 hrs!!). Nan&GdadP left and kids were attempting to eat their dinner. We all watched Doctor Who and Confidential - 5/5 (can’t see how they’re going to play it?), Hermionie put herself to bed (ahhh!). Alex & I tidied the kids rooms, listened to Glastonbury for a bit on BBC3.

Cleaning out the loft… Grrrrr!

Alex has been sorting through more loft bits this morning. I have undertaken my usual role of chief-tidy-upper. Kids have been watching far too much tvWe all had a late brekkie. Alex cleaned the rabbits out whilst Natalie and I de-matted them - avoid the savage white one!Alex left with G to go pick some bits up to fill the last available floor space. Hermonie started playing nicely with Natalie’s baby in her buggy which is stored in the kitchen because there’s no space in the porch or hall anymore. I came across the abandoned sun shade that refused to work last year and now just mysteriously does! - this of course meant we had (in Hermionie’s eyes) a brand new fun buggy on our hands with with to kill Mummy by wheeling it around the kitchen again and again. She gave up with this idea quite quickly (Yay!) and progressed to just making the usual pile of stuff in the middle of the living room floor. Binka ended up fast asleep in the buggy. It is now his new bed. Natalie made another attempt to finish off Jolly Phonics Book 7 (I know she’s too old but it’s good for the handwriting practice and pencil control and well, I just want all the books finished), SME 5-7 Book 3 (again, far too easy, but just want it done!) and EME. We all listened  to music for a bit. I made the kids pasta with veggies hidden in it for Dinner. Alex came home, picked us all up and went round S&G’s for pizza (not enough for me - I now have the appetite of a T-Rex!), playing, dvd-watching, boys playing with their new gadgets and kids that refuse to sleep!G has a mac - my only convert.    But it’s sad to see a mac dying in the corner - it needs more RAM!!!

Wish we’d gone to Stonehenge!

Discussed getting up at about 2 or 3am and driving to Stonehenge for the Summer Solstice - I would love to see the sun rise on the longest day of the year, to be there and just join in a feel whatever it is you’re supposed to feel there at that time of year - it would be nice to see the sun actually rise at any time of the year though - one of those magical wonders I miss every morning because the bed is too comfortable. Maybe next year then….

Still planning to take the kids to Stonehenge as part of English-Heritage’s Free Educational Visits soon, navigating off to fill in form now B4 I forget…

…right done that

We ate our organic Chicken eggs from Staunton for brekkie - yum! We thin it was the chickens that tried to steal our lunch yesterday. First time me and the kids have tried eggs that heven’t come from a shop - will have to try and find a farm nearby again.

Alex and I emptied the loft of all the bits we need to sell (which are all now piled up strategically around the house - Grrrr!) broke for lunch, Natalie looked after Hermionie whilst I launched myself into the dark pit of fibreglass and no floorboards-so-watch-your-bum-or-you’ll-fall-through-the-ceiling that is the lofthole, came out with a mass of black sacks full of baby clothes. Everyone we know doesn’t want any more babies  so we end with all the clothes - if we have sex-tuplets this time - we will more than fine to clothe them each in different outfits for everyday until they’re 2! So sackfulls of baby clothes coming soon to eBay then…..

Natalie and Hermionie were playing wonderfully together downstairs, they were both dressed in xmas dress-up and Natalie had made xmas dinner from wooden blocks  then they played in their rooms for a bit. Hermionie had a sleep on the sofa, Natalie had her dinner and we shipped her off to brownies, while Alex, Hermionie and I went to Tesco.

We all watched Holby (can’t believe they just killed Diane off like that - no come-back for her then - still waiting for Jax and Thandie to get their just desserts….oh and still expecting Abra to turn into Vivienne from The Young Ones, or better still Eddie from Bottom  ) - well kids were supposed to be going to sleep on the sofa!! Ha!

Put kids to bed, and we sorted through stuff we bought down.
